"A living dog is better than a dead lion" (Ecclesiastes 9:4)

Hey y'all's!

Transfers were this week which meant we had to cram into a car and drive to Tampa.  The infamous road for traffic named Fletcher was not too bad so we got there on time.  I was able to see all the remaining MTC group missionaries that came out with me.  We took a few pictures to commemorate the event.

I got Elder Bledsoe at transfers.  He has been through a lot of knee, shoulder, and other injuries due to wrestling.  To top all that off one of the mission cars decided it did not like his foot so it ran it over a couple months ago.  As a result he is still on the mend.  Two days this week we did not go out because it hurt a lot and it is not worth making it worse.  We have the car this week so it should go better.

As of right now I do feel super old among missionaries.  I feel like Carl from the movie UP.

A lot of biking occurred last week.  We had to race around the area a few times which was tiring.  On the good side the area is doing better and we were able to enjoy the nice lake sides and cool breezes.  Florida is becoming cooler lately and being outside is actually enjoyable now.

Work wise things are good.  A student at Florida Southern (a college in our area) wants to have questions answered about the church so we will see them soon.  Our Ward Mission Leader is killing it, doing a tremendous amount of good among the members and helps us out whenever we ask.  All in all life is good.  

Spiritual thought - 

I shall paraphrase a story that is quite interesting, from a July 1971 Ensign Article Good Teachers Matter by Marion D Hanks:

"There was a lady who sat on the kitchen stairs to chop potatoes and onions all day for a boardinghouse.  For fifteen years she sat there and complained about how dull it was.  Then Louis Agassiz, a famed naturalist, appeared.  

The lady complained to him that she did not have the same opportunities he had.  The doctor asked what she did.  Her monotonous life was told and the man asked:" what do you sit on when doing this interesting but homely task?"

"A glazed brick" was the reply.

Louis asked for a letter describing a glazed brick.  Well, I can show him thought the lady.  She studied it out and the more she studied the more she learned.  The letter equaled thirty six pages of information.  As a result she got $250 from the publishing.  

Agassiz then asked what was below the brick.  “Ants” was the reply.  "What is an ant," was the man's next question.

The lady rushed to the library and studied everything about ants.  She learned so much she filled up three hundred and sixty pages on the subject.  Louis published it and the lady was able to visit the places she always wanted to see, all from seeing the worth of positive thinking.
