The News Is Known!!!

Hey everybody,

It's official, I am getting transferred to Apollo Beach!!!  It is the southernmost area of the Brandon zone.  I will be with Elder Drumright, the Elder who baptized Tiffany (in the baptism picture last week and again down below Elder Drumright is kneeling).  It's a huge area so it will be quite an adventure.  Elder Hawkes will be staying here and will be with Elder Stockham.

This past week was ordinary with not that much happening.  We mainly went by a few less-actives until we had an exchange this last Tuesday.  We found a bunch of people who were interested and gave out a few copies of the Book of Mormon to them.  Elder Hawkes will be meeting with them throughout the week.

I heard from our ward mission leader's wife that Apollo Beach has different weather.  There are more rednecks there than here and a lot more Bible bashers.  The ward is strong even though it is small.  It's much better to have a good ward than a good area because then the members help out a bunch with the missionary work.

Jerry is doing well.  We finished First Nephi with him and he loved all of it.  They should be starting Second Nephi with him on Saturday.  He came to church and loved it as always.

We had an encounter with a hideous insectivorous beast that the Brandon Elders brought to us in a container. This explains it well – nocturnal mouse-like mammal with forelimbs modified to form membranous wings and anatomical adaptations for echolocation by which they navigate…
It was a bat.  It wasn't that big and wasn't a vampire bat but it was still freaky.  There are a lot of them here and they devour the mosquitoes in droves which is good.  The bat was nicknamed "batwing" and we freed him and he flew out into the trees and his location is unknown.

There are also many lizards here which scurry around on the sidewalk.  They are literally everywhere and often meet grisly ends under shoes and bike tires if you are not paying attention to them.

That was basically the whole last week.  It was just an average good week.  I hope everybody does well and has a good week,

Elder Fabricius
