Transfers and getting into the holiday spirit

Hello to ya'll,

This past week was pretty crazy.  We went fishing on Pday and Elder Drumright got scraped up a little by some rocks so we got that taken care of.  Nothing too serious, just a small cut.  The fish were biting but did not take the bait which is frustrating.  Saltwater catfish strangely abound all over the place off of the beach.

District meeting was good.  The Assistants and the Zone Leaders both came down to be there.  Elder Drumright was stressing as he was the District Leader but it was a good meeting.  We took District pictures after.

I went on an exchange with a Zone Leader, Elder Perrero.  He did the baptismal interview for young David and he passed it.  After that we went around Ruskin and talked to a bunch of people in the dark.  It gets dark here at 6:15 and people do not like it when you talk to them.

The rest of the week was pretty much slow going except for Saturday.  I did go on another exchange with Elder Pruszynski and we walked a lot.  Elder Pruszynski is a snake catcher and he almost caught a non-poisonous snake called a "black racer".  These snakes are fast and are extremely hard to grab on the ground.  He wants to catch a "Cottonmouth" or a Rattlesnake, both varieties are obviously dangerous so he shouldn’t do that.

Saturday was David's baptism.  Elder Drumright was chosen to be the one to baptize him.  The whole Mendiola / Enriquez family came and a bunch of members showed up to give him support.  The whole baptism was pretty cool and David was happy afterwards.

Sunday was confirmation day and David is now the newest member of the Apollo Beach ward.  The whole Mendiola / Enriquez family are supportive and David wishes to be a missionary.  I hope he does it because then he will grow a lot.  Hopefully Elder Mendiola will show up in a few years.

Transfers are this week.  I will be staying in Apollo Beach and getting Elder Reichner.  He has been out about 6 months.  We will be hitting the streets hard.

I hope you all do well and enjoy the holiday season,

Elder Fabricius

The heights by great men reached and kept,
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.
